chicken barbecue

April 20th, 2008

It is the weekend. The two days in a week when hubby gets to do what he wants to do like cleaning the yard, fixing whatever needs to be fixed may it be a car he purchased or a doorknob-you name it he’ll fix it, and of course cooking and grilling. Now the latter is what I always look forward to. You know, food :D

I love it when he grills chicken and mixes up his own sauce for it. I tell you it is way better than the stuff he buys from the store. For some reason, I still haven’t acquired the taste of american barbecue. But when hubby makes his own mix I love it. It has got everything in it-the sweet-sour-hot-salty taste I like on barbecue. He would just throw everything in a bowl and never even measure the ingredients. The catch with him doing this is that the next day he forgets the mixture. But we have leftovers of very good tasting barbecue which makes me happy because I like leftovers paired with rice. I know I should look and see what hubby throws in the bowl so I can make my own. For now I will just enjoy his impromptu mixes. Delicious!

Yay, I didn’t know I had that in me. I am known to be mean and insulting. I guess there is something wrong with the answer huh? :D

dilemma

April 7th, 2008

My blog is listed on one of the paid sites I am a member of. There were issues with it I don’t want to divulge here that made me decide to buy a domain for it. I asked the admin what I should do about it which resulted to sending emails back and forth but it boils down to the fact that they wouldn’t want me to do it. I guess because my blog has a higher page rank. They give me a lot of bull and I got p****d and that was the end of that. The other site was very nice about the issue. Told me to just resubmit my blog and that was it. I went ahead and reread the post the former paid site made on their blog and I was amazed that I really can buy a domain for my blog and that I have to face the fact that I may have to start from scratch ( I am prepared for that) and then resubmit my blog again. There was really never a problem. Why they said I can’t change my blog’s domain I don’t understand. I don’t know what I should do now. Maybe wait until my page rank disappears and the buy a domain. What do you think? But what if, by sheer luck, my page rank will get higher? Problemang dako!

Anastasia

April 4th, 2008

I watched the animation Anastasia earlier. I have been meaning to watch it for a long time but it was only today I found out a link to watch it. I guess I got lucky. The story is about a girl, Anastasia, who was the daughter of the czar of Russia. Her family died because of the hateful Rasputin who condemned the family to death. Anastasia and her grandmother escaped, with the help of a boy who worked in the castle, but were separated. Years later, the dowager duchess searched for her only surviving relative but went through a lot of impostors wanting to get her money. While the real Anastasia went to Paris pretending to be herself without her knowing it with the help of two con men. One worked for the royal family before the sad event and the other was the boy who helped her ran away from it. Her main reason for going along with the plan was to go to Paris. That voice she remembered telling her they will meet in Paris.

I like the story. I have always loved animated movies. The heroine had a happy ending too. But from what I had read about the real Anastasia, she didn’t have a happy ending. How sad. I actually just read a story about her from yahoo news. I hope they will get to know if she really survived from that tragedy or not for her own sake.

April Fool’s Day

April 1st, 2008

I was browsing on the internet earlier when a yahoo messenger window popped-up. The message was from a friend who said she won the lottery. I, of course, didn’t believe it. Who would when she just popped out of nowhere without preamble? I mean if I won big-time from the lottery I will be ecstatic and it will surely be evident on the way I present my words on a chatbox. I said good for her and she said I was fooled and greeted me Happy April Fool’s day. That was the end of the conversation.

What prompted this entry though was what Wheel of Fortune’s host Pat Sajak made his co-host Vanna White do after their show. He said that people often enough ask him if he is wearing a hair-piece and he denies it but claimed he wants to be free from lying so he told her to pull his hair off. Vanna was hesitant to pull Pat’s wig but she eventually did and was shocked. Pat was bald as a newborn babe! Now, I don’t know if it was true or just a prank being it is the day for fooling everyone. He looked cute without hair though. He even joked he can now host Deal or No Deal :D

The Philippines’ equivalent to April Fool’s Day is the Innocent’s Day better known to us filipinos as Niño’s Inocentes. It is in December. This is called so because Herod the Great ordered his soldiers to kill all young male children within his kingdom to stop the prophecy that a child will be born to be the King of the Jews. Considering the horrible incident that commemorates this date I wonder why this day is used to fool people. My relatives from Leyte always got me on this day. Making up believable stories that gullible me always believed.
