blogroll

May 31st, 2008

A few days ago I messed up this baby’s links. I wanted to have a nice template which is pleasing to the eye but it lead to destruction, literally. I lost my links but thankfully not my posts. I was able to retrieve my previous posts. My friend had to spend hours in front of the computer just to fix this. I have wanted to fix this problem but I don’t have that much time yet. My hands are quite full right now what with my boy getting sick. I only had to come here to do important stuff and I am off again.

I just want to tell anybody who added this baby in their blogs to leave your links here so I can add them up. I can probably find the older links I added here but not the new ones. If you can’t see your names in the blogroll yet please bear with me. I will add you when I have the time.

jewelries

It is awful being sick much more when you have to tell the world about it. There are certain medical conditions though that has to be identified so as to protect the people who are affected by it. That is why they have to wear a medical id to let people know just in case an incident may occur. You don’t have to limit yourself to a plain looking medical id though. You can get nice medical jewelries at Jewel Elegance and have it engraved with your medical condition. You will find bracelets, pendants, and watches in 10K or 14K gold as well as sterling silver.

happy!

May 29th, 2008

Another blessing for me. This baby is going to start getting productive and I am happy. I hope I can keep up with updates and whatever I need to do to make this blog pleasant to whoever will chance upon it. Blogging has really made a difference on my life as a stay at home mother. I can write my thoughts and feelings here and be productive at the same time. There are times that I feel bad for making so many blogs but I am not a quitter and it is my decision to keep all of my blogs active. I would hate to give up either one of my babies. Anyways, I just want to share with you all my feeling and hope you will be happy for me too.

i am loving it!

Messing with the CSS codes is so much fun. It took up most of my time yesterday that bubby felt jealous. I had to make it up to him. This is the first time I enjoyed tweaking the codes which resulted to a template I really like. I don’t know if my friend isn;t tired of uploading themes for me yet but there are just so many to choose and try from. I have to do this when my boy is taking his nap though. I don’t want him to feel neglected anymore. And it is the weekend so I can’t do anymore tweaking now save for maybe a few minutes later when hubby isn’t busy. I just wanted to update this and share my feelings to everyone. Happy weekend and see you all later.

After I talked to my friend Belle last night and heard of her offer to host this blog I made the decision to go ahead and do it. What’s the harm? I know I can trust her. I feel a little shame because I could buy a year’s space from a web hosting company but I chose to do it this day. But then I am not computer savvy. It will take me a long time, with frustrations along the way, to pull it off.  I will leave it to my friend to know what there is to know and just benefit along with it. Boy, that made me sound like a user. Bad poray! :D

Anyways, she was generous enough to wait up and helped me set up my blog and downloaded the themes I like. I am still trying to figure this out and hope that I can make things work out. This baby is not earning yet and I don’t really know where to submit this. I guess I will just wait and see if this qualifies anywhere.

To Belle, thanks girl for the space. You already helped me a lot ever since that day I asked you how to to make an outbound link work. So simple and yet I didn’t know what to do. Shame. If not for you it probably would have took me a long time to earn from blogging. To think we started right at the same time. Thank you for the offer that I so graciously accepted. Thanks for the friendship. Thanks for the space. God bless!

hung over and, well, broke

May 14th, 2008

I am talking about my parents who a few weeks ago celebrated the fiesta in my native Guinsanga-an in Leyte. I know you are not familiar with it. We are from the boondocks :)

Anyways, we sent them a pretty decent amount. Both in western union and straight to their bank account. It was worth four months of their allowance from us here. I thought that they may be able to save even a little from that amount given that my brother sent them part of his salary too and gave them the go signal to use the money however they wanted. Well, they did use his money to fix something for the house and used the money we sent on most expenses and so they are broke. Except for their money in the bank. Of course I figured that prior to sending them the first and second batch so I thought of sending them again a little amount this time so they can go to town (which celebrated the fiesta yesterday) and buy them stuff. They were happy of course and mamsy even laughed when I told her I knew it was gonna happen. She said thanks and to give their love to their grandson. They were very busy during the fiesta entertaining guests and such but they said they had a good time. And were able to fed a lot of people. And that was all that matters.

I know we are spoiling my parents so much but hubby said it is a gift to them for trying to do whatever it took to raise me and my brother and sent us to school even if it meant hardships and tears, and sometimes ridicules and criticisms from people. They stood their ground and were firm in their decision to make better persons out of their kids. I will be eternally grateful for them. Even if sometimes they make me frustrated on things. We all love them and they know it.

rice shortage

May 8th, 2008

When hubby first read the news about stores putting limits to how many bags of rice a customer can purchase, you could say he panicked for me. He called me from work and said we had to go to the store when he gets home and buy a few bags before it was implemented and make sure I have a lot so I won’t go without for months. He bought me 40 lbs of rice even if I said I couldn’t consume it in months. Well, I guess that is better than going to the store every other week to buy rice. I still have those small bags he bought prior to the forty pounds though. I could say there is no rice shortage here at home. I understand hubby when he decided to buy me rice because he knows that I get mean when I don’t have my rice fix. You see, I grew up with rice as staple food. I ate rice three sometimes four times a day when I was in the Philippines. It is only now that there will be a day or two that I can go without rice. But the result is bad. I go weak and when somebody messes with me, he or she is in for a filipina tongue lashing. So you now see his reason? My husband is a smart guy ;)

I am quite sad with this thing happening though. Rice is a staple food in Asia. Majority of us Asians eat rice daily and if this problem wouldn’t be fixed I don’t know what’s going to happen. My parents said that rice is getting expensive in the Philippines right now. Of course they have other options such as corn grits, sweet potato, or bananas. But the first don’t keep for long, the others take time to grow and favors certain soil conditions,  not to mention the climate. I hope this can be worked out. Rice or food shortage is scary to think about in a planet where there are billions of people. I don’t even want to think of what ifs. I pray that this will be solved. We should help in every way we can. Conserve. That was what I always heard from my parents. Maybe it will help even a little.
