all clean

March 31st, 2009

The other day I decided to clean the kitchen from the sink to the floor. I have not mopped the floor for weeks and I simply just could not take it anymore, lol. So I set out the task to clean and told the husband and the little man to stay out of my way. Of course, with these two around, I could not get anything done and they don’t listen to me either. I had to yell at them several times to stay from the kitchen because I don’t want anybody to slip and get hurt. The husband already has enough injury, we don’t want to add more to that. As for the little man, we do not want him hurt. Period. After so much yelling and scrubbing and making sure that even the sink is stain-free, I finished the job and was happy with the result. Hey, we may not have Moen faucet at home but I still want to see it sparkling clean. Everybody was happy with the result especially since it smells better now in the kitchen. I can’t believe I let the floor go as bad as it did before I cleaned it up but I am sure glad it is clean now. I can now wait a few more weeks before I clean it again :D Nah, maybe a week or two.

wall*e

March 28th, 2009

I know this movie was shown last year (I think, lol.) but I just got to watch it tonight with the husband and the little man. I was bored so I asked the husband if we can buy a new DVD player and thankfully after so much bitch*ng he indulged me. If you are wondering why we don’t have a DVD player, it is because the one we bought months ago quit working courtesy of the little man. So, anyway, we bought a new player and I went to the video store to rent some movies which we watched tonight. The little man enjoyed the movie especially the part where Wall*E was chasing the red lights. It elicited a bout of giggles from him. He passed out before the movie ended though so it was just me and the husband who continued watching. Surprisingly, he watched it with me until it was finished. That was not normal considering he already watched the documentary Sicko. He was so quiet too until I voiced poor Wall*E when the robot got all beat up. He said there are a lot of spare parts for Wall*E when they get back to Earth. That is from the mechanic in him I guess, lol. Always thinking that machines can be repaired which is true provided one knows how to do it. Anyways, I love the movie and will look forward to watching more animated movies in the coming days.

just an update

March 24th, 2009

The husband’s sister and her family are here in the south right now. They have made this a yearly event to visit the south ever since we moved down here three years ago. It is apparent the husband is happy some of his relatives are here. We have been taking our time just enjoying the company of family. He joked to them though that it looked like they brought their whole kitchen with them because they do have a lot of food and stuff, to which the sister in law replied, all but the kitchen sink. Lol. They drove her husband’s van which he normally uses to put heavy industrial equipment for his work. They had to drive the van so everybody will fit in and they won’t need another car. It worked well for them I should say. We are back home now because the husband has therapy and a Cat-Scan and I also have an appointment for my annual eye checkup which is in danger of being rescheduled if his therapy will last more than an hour. I have rescheduled that appointment three times. I am afraid what the receptionist will say to my face when I finally get there to have it done. Anyway, since I am home, I have to tidy the place up while waiting for the husband to get home from his first appointment. So, ciao for now :)

responsibility

March 17th, 2009

I talked about how one of the kids loves horses but she can’t have one yet. I understand why her mother or grandmother is not urging her to follow her wish because having a horse is a lot of responsibility. One has to take care of its needs and buy all kinds of horse supplements so the animal will stay healthy. Plus there is the issue of space, where will she let the horse stay? They might need a barn for it and make sure its needs are well taken cared of. At least with toys all she has to do is put it in her toy box when she is done playing. And who knows if this is a long term one or just a short-lived fascination? Well, I hope the little man will stick to his toy cars for now. I can tell he likes dogs but we can’t afford one just as yet. It is hard not to give in to kids when they show interest on animals but as adults we have to be responsible also and make the right decisions.

she loves horses

March 17th, 2009

My husband’s granddaughter is fond of horses. She is only about seven when she developed her fascination with horses and since she can’t take lessons she focused her attention on toys instead. She has tons of plastic toy horses in all its glory and she treasures those so much that when one of the kids try to touch one means war. The other kids always test her patience though and, yes, it gets ugly the times we went to visit. She really loves her toy horses and I am pretty sure if she can buy equestrian apparel for all of those she would to. I just find it amazing that at such a young age she knows what she wants only there are reasons why she can’t have the real thing yet. Maybe when she gets older she can do what she wants and can afford to indulge her wishes.

wristwatch

March 16th, 2009

I was searching online and came across the words Patek Philippe which I thought was a brand of shoes. Pardon my ignorance. So I browsed through the page and looked and boy was I surprised. The watches are way over my league. This must have been the reason why I did not know what the name was, because it is not something I would normally look online much less buy. Heck, I can’t afford one even if I want it so bad, lol. I showed the site to the husband and he asked why was I looking at expensive watches and I gave him the same reason as above and he laughed at me. Probably thought I am nuts. Well, at least now I know.

motel reservations

March 16th, 2009

We already made a reservation on our favorite motel for the sister-in-law and kids who will come down to visit us this weekend. The husband and his sister agreed that they will split the bill when she gets here which is no problem for us. We did not know what their plans are when they get here but I am sure most of their time will be spent on the beach walking and collecting shells. And if the weather permits, swimming. I am already excited. We only see them about once a year and we are happy they can make it this year. If only the husband is not injured he would have loved to take long walks with his sister (they enjoy walking long distances) but since his movement is limited he will have to spend his time sitting in a beach chair. That is better than him being in severe pain. We can’t wait for him to get all better and get back to his normal activities though. We are already hoping our visitors will have a good time :)

more restorations

March 13th, 2009

As I have mentioned before, the stepdaughter is in the process of fixing her home the way she likes it.I personally thought it was fine but once I saw the new paint in the inside walls I noticed the difference and, yes, the inside of the house looks a lot better. She also bought kitchen appliances which matched the look and feel of the whole area. She did good in this one and we already admit, she found her a good deal. They are still not finished painting and repainting and fixing the rest of the house so they have not done anything in the yard yet. It is a bit chilly here anyway after that warm spell which we all thought will be here to stay. I am just wondering if and when she starts her restorations and beautification of her yard if she will be interested in getting wall fountains for the patio in the backyard. It sure will add beauty to the whole place. Knowing her though, I won’t be surprised if there will be something in there the next time we visit.
