horse

I took this picture the same day I took that picture of the bottle from the park. There were weird different displays in that park and only a few have labels in them so most of the stuff I don’t know what it was for or why it was built that way. This, as you can see, is a horse. Or a likeness of one. I don’t know the significance because I could not find anything near it that explains why it was at the park. Don’t worry, next time I will go, I will try to read on the signs and information (what little there is) provided so I will be able to tell more. I am just fascinated with the oddity of the displays that was why I took pictures.

bottle?

Took this picture at the park. I think it is a water bottle. The husband argued and said it is a coke bottle. What do you think it is? I did not go near to check what it was made of so I can’t tell you much about details. I took a picture because I thought it looked unusual to be seen in a park. There was no sign or label to tell what it is. It may have been put there so park goers will have something to think about :)

computer issues

July 23rd, 2009

I have been using my old laptop for months now. I have to because the husband is using my other laptop’s charger since his was fried when a lightning hit near the house. So I am left with a fast computer without a charger. But instead of whining about it I decided to use my old computer until we have the resources to buy a new charger for his computer. The old laptop worked fine until the other day when I updated a program which required a lot of memory space. It had been acting up since then. It would stall in the middle of my surfing the internet and it takes forever to load a page anymore. I am dying to use my other computer but I can’t deprive the husband of his online news and updates on the stock market. So here I am thinking to buy memory for my old computer and hoping it will make it load faster. I need it more anyway than a charger because as long as this computer is in my possession then I will try to make use of it. This way when I get ready to give this old laptop to my parents it will have more space for pictures and other things. As for the charger, I will wait until we are ready to buy one. Who knows the husband might just buy me a new laptop when we can afford it.

on saving

July 20th, 2009

The husband told me to sign up for a certain insurance where if our car had to breakdown somebody will tow it for free. I did and I added him up as member as well and we have used its service once last week. Our car broke down because of a faulty transmission and so we called the company to two our car to his friend’s shop so the friend can fix it. It was far from where we live but we did not pay a penny. It was worth the money we spent on membership and I am glad I listened to him. He said we still have a few more tows left and laughed about it. With the transmission acting up like this and our car being old, there is a chance it will happen again but we know what to do. Besides we are saving to buy a new transmission for future use. We don’t have anything fancy like motorhome towing on our membership but should it come to a point when we own one I am sure we will upgrade. I like the previleges the company offers and one of these days we might just avail of some of the offers. For now we are happy that we did not have to call a towing truck because we might have to spend more money than we have. Every little thing that saves us money helps us a lot.

Taken December 2008 on our trip to Florida.

The water was so calm I could not believe my eyes, lol. It was like being in my hometown minus the white sand.

Very relaxing place.

Less people.

More beach.

Clear water.

We would love to go back one day and spend a few days.

for comfort?

I have noticed lately that when I am upset I resort to food. I don’t get angry or stressed much as long as there is something to munch on. Good thing the diet pills I am taking right now is doing its wonders so I have not noticed any weight gain. It seems like it sets a limit as to how much my stomach is allowed to hold food. And tells me when I have had enough. If I am not taking anything right now I probably would be overweight considering the worries and stress my family is going through. I should say thank goodness for diet pills. Hopefully we will hear good news soon for everybody’s sake.

happy birthday!

July 13th, 2009

Today is the husband’s birthday. We talked about it yesterday but when I woke up this morning I totally forgot. If not for my parents calling I would not have remembered. Such a shame that people who were thousands of miles away remember my husband’s birthday and I did not. I already said sorry but I still feel awful. I blame it on so many things going on lately.

We do not have anything planned for today. I do not know what to give him because when I asked months before he flatly told me he already have the things he want. I guess he does not want me to spend money on something he will have no use of. I hope his grown up kids will call if they have not already. It is a big thing for the husband for people to call and greet him than spending money on his birthday.

I wish him good health (he needs this right now with everything going on), peace of mind, and more blessings. We love you Dadi. Happy birthday!

no english!

July 9th, 2009

With my near obsession with the sweet potato top, I had to buy more from the Asian store. So off I went today. And since my life will not be complete without my favorite brand of soy sauce (from the Philippines) I decided to go to the isle where all kinds of sauces and dips are on display. There were two women running up and down the isle looking for something and when they saw me asked if I have seen any duck sauce. To be honest that was the first time I heard if such and since I did not know what it was, politely told them I don’t know and went on. Surely, she was not expecting me to help her find it? So I went on ahead and looked for the soy sauce but I heard her say Oh, no english! and they both laughed. I was fuming mad when I heard it. It was uncalled for. She asked me a question, I answered and she made fun of me? How dare she? But I am not an argumentative kind of person so I let it pass. There was no point in arguing with somebody who could not even find freaking duck sauce! Some mean part of me hoped she did not find what she was looking for, lol. It would serve her right. But if she was thinking at all, she should have asked somebody from the store if she could not find what she was looking for and not take it out on some random customer. I could have been a bitch like her and she would have had to deal with me. Anyway, I hope not to encounter people like her again.
