yucky molds

February 28th, 2010

Today I had to clean our old Jeep which we have not used in months. The husband said we need to use it some because it had sit idle in the carport but when he checked on it earlier it had molds in the seat-belts and the little man’s carseat. It was nasty. I had to search online on what to do to get rid of molds because he wanted to use bleach and I did not like the idea. It will not be good for us if we are going to drive it. I read about the use of vinegar on molds so that was what I used when I cleaned the inside earlier. I even wiped the dash and the doors with it too. Hopefully it will work. I like the smell of vinegar in the car, it is way better than the suffocating smell of bleach. I did a terrible mistake though, I left all four doors open which presumably drained the car’s battery. In fairness to him, the husband did not get upset over it. He said he will have to charge it even though I am all for buying a new one if that was the only problem. But then, he knows about cars better than anybody else so I will let him decide. I am glad I got the car cleaned and I did not get blamed for my mistake :D

waiting game

February 27th, 2010

I made another trip to our mailbox this evening. This is in anticipation for the delivery of my passport which I applied for in person five weeks and two days ago. I get another disappointment since the document was not there. In its place were bills and junk mails offering loans and life insurance with accompanying life insurance rates which we cannot afford at the moment. I just want my passport and also a bag I ordered from one of my online buddies from Tennessee. The husband is also waiting for his online orders which have been long overdue if we go by the merchant’s promise of prompt delivery. I am hoping everything will arrive at once. It should be fun :)

*update: The passport was delivered a few days after this post. The bag also came along with the husband’s order.

almost but not quite

February 26th, 2010

I did an almost 20 minute workout this morning. Almost because I did not really complete the 20 minutes, lol. It was actually just 17 minutes of cardio but I still feel good when I was finished. The little man worked out alongside me but he wanted me to stick to the video and not improvise. He is such a demanding taskmaster :D Now that I have done my exercise I am good for the day. The workout is good for 45 minutes but I am not doing the whole thing again lest I will overdo it. Anyway, I am here to check about insurance online in preparation for the husband and I’s plan on getting pregnant again. I have to find a plan which pays for pregnancy but I have to make sure everything is in black and white because our previous insurance provider messed up when I was pregnant with the little man. Even with the promises I still ended up paying a big chunk of the bills. We do not want that to happen this time so I have to be more vigilant. If we are going to pay a lot of money on premium it should only be fair that we get most out of it right? Well, I have to get on with my search. You all have a good weekend.

losing my mind

February 23rd, 2010

And at such a young age too. Do you want to know what prompted me to say this? Well, this morning I was gearing on cooking my favorite rice noodles when I decided to use syrup instead of cooking oil to saute my spices. Fortunately I realized that something was off when the “oil” did not spread like it normally does when poured in a skillet with the stove on high heat. I actually cussed myself which the husband heard and inquired the reason for. When I told him what happened he looked at me and shook his head. Speechless, lol. He already knows that his wife is crazy and proofs are piling up should he have any doubts at first. I am lucky the syrup did not burn or else I would have to clean up a mess. I have to try to be careful next time. Perhaps paying attention will do the trick too.

vegetable overload

February 19th, 2010

The husband and I are into eating vegetables lately. It is uncanny how we crave for the same food at the same time given that we don’t normally like the same food at all. I blurted the other day that I am craving for vegetables to which he said “so am I”. So I went to the store to buy vegetables which was a good thing because there was a sale on frozen vegetables- ten bags for ten dollars. Steal? Hell, yeah! Considering vegetables mostly costs an arm and a leg anymore. Why, these green (and sometimes red and yellow) things are sometimes cheaper than meat. And to get those for a dollar a bag was some stroke of luck. So we bought ten bags and we already consumed everything. Well, except the bags :D It was so good with rice and fried dried fish. The husband ate his with mashed potato and a little meat. And the funny thing is that we may have ate that much vegetables but we still want more so we bought more tonight. I am not complaining about this craving at all. After all, it is just vegetables. Surely we will not pack in a lot of pounds if we munch this right?

three’s a charm?

February 18th, 2010

Today started out to be a good day what with the little man being well behaved and in a happy mood. I finished reading a book while in the little man’s room listening in to his squeals of delight while playing with his toys. The husband was in our room taking his nap, happy nobody was bothering him. Everything was doing fine until I felt something warm running down my nose. I knew what it was right away so I ran to the bathroom hoping I will not leave any blood stain either in the little man’s bed sheet or my shirt. I had to let it run its course and I was glad it stopped after a few minutes. I thought that was the end of that until an hour later there it was again. The husband said it is normally caused by dry air and tried to talk to me while this was going on and I told him I know what it was all about. This is not the first time it happened. I do have nosebleeds every now and then. Only it normally happens once and then it will be gone. This time it did not only happen twice but thrice! I had another episode just about an hour ago. I am running out of paper towel. And I feel like I am going to have another bout with it. I just hope I won’t. I hate the feeling. Anyway, I am supposed to read on disability appeal for a friend but I have not done it. I have not been online for most of the day. I don’t have the time to sit in front of the computer too long to read because I am afraid my nose will act up again. I am here tonight just to update my blog and to tell you my woes and then I will be off. Perhaps tomorrow I will have better tales to tell.

online chat

February 17th, 2010

It is nice to talk to relatives from time to time. That is what I am doing right now. Talking to one of my cousins who is in Singapore. We grew up in the same place so we basically know the same people. We usually gossip about people we know and it is fun if I am honest about it. We are both on Facebook but yahoo messenger chat is better because we get to talk in private. We were in the middle of our conversation when she asked “what is skin id?” I was speechless for a minute but told her I don’t have a clue. Should I? She said never mind and that was that. We then proceeded talking about our cousin who is in our hometown right now for a vacation. We both wish we were there too. It would have been fun and loud. But never mind, we will be there some day. Hopefully. We have to be content on online chats for now.

yet another update

February 17th, 2010

WordPress has another update. Yet again. I know it is for our own good. I mean, if the tech people are doing this it must be to improve their service right? Which means wordpress users benefit. And I really like it. It is just that sometimes it gets on my nerves having to save my blog’s xml every time I do an update. I know it shouldn’t because I am supposed to save an updated copy every now and then just in case something goes wrong but I am a whiny person and I need to complain, lol. But I still save a file anyway and I will make it a weekly routine for just in case. I would rather do this work than be helpless should something happen to my blog in the future. I would not want that to happen of course but we never know. It is always better to prepare for contingencies. Anyway, I have to go make a backup but not after I search what to use to remove wrinkles which the husband asked me to do. I don’t know why he is asking since I don’t think he needs it in any way. Unless he thinks I need it? Lol. Now that is something to think about.
